In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

The pleasure of getting a surprise⁣
⁣
I mean that wonderful feeling of amazement as you open the box that just got delivered.

The excitement and giddiness as you unwrap it...⁣
⁣
Maybe it is a brand new jilbab from your favourite designer or a cute abaya from a dear friend
Maybe it is books from your wishlist

Maybe it is a spa gift card for your favourite pamper session

Or a brand new handbag, a slow cooker or a new pair of crocs.
Or maybe it is a job offer you have been waiting for or admission to that program
Or maybe it is your child finally crawling or uttering their first word⁣
Or just maybe it is the positive pregnancy test…
⁣
The Prophet Zakariyya (AS) was surprised to always find Maryam (AS) with food even when it was not in season. When asked where she got it from, she said,⁣ ⁣

"𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, 𝐇𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬."⁣

There and then, He made du'a asking for a child and guess what?⁣
⁣
The news came to him of his son and he was surprised...⁣
⁣
..."but I am old"⁣
⁣
..."and my wife is barren"⁣
⁣
𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡! 𝐇𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬.⁣
⁣
I pray that Allah surprises you and fills your life with wonder and amazement. Go ahead and ask Him...⁣
⁣
...For a child, a spouse, a job, that course you can't afford, a new iPadPro, brand new shoes, clothes or even your next chocolate fix.⁣
⁣
You have a Lord who is limitless.

There are no odds with Him. ⁣Always in your favour.

And your Lord will give you and you will be pleased.

Ya Wahhab! Gift us and make us among your grateful servants.
