In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I wanted a different Eid experience for the children and Alhamdulillah We spent Eid with their grandparents.
The Eid ground, was so full. It was like, SubhanAllah so those at Arafat yesterday, was not all of his ummah. We are ALL the Ummah of Rasulillah. All of us. And I pray we all gather around him and take that glorious sip on that day. Amīn.
Yesterday, we talked alot about du'a and also made lots. The agents specifically made du'a for Allah to give them money. We had just put our mats on the floor at the Eid ground and a woman walked up to them and gave them money. It is the first time a stranger is giving them money. And I said, Look! Allah has answered your dua. Now its time for gratitude!
Eventually they started to make a list of all the things they would buy with it including a car, candy, and a doll 😆. It might look like N20 (20 Naira) but again, it is from Allah. Alhamdulillah.
Eid is a time of celebration, renewal and forgiveness. And for some it is a hard time. It is a reminder of dreams that have not come through yet, hope that waivers a little bit and most importantly, a time like always to trust in Allah. So do not despair of His Mercy.
In the midst of our busy lives, it's easy to lose sight of the small moments that hold immense significance. The laughter that echoes through family gatherings, the smiles exchanged with loved ones, and the feeling of contentment when we extend a helping hand to those in need. These moments, are the gems that embellish the fabric of our lives.
The khutbah was quite beautiful and one thing the imam hammered a lot was the need for tarbiyah and our role in that as parents. He said we needed to encourage more Islamic education because it is something that would always be useful to our children. And that was validation for a conversation I had with myself yesterday as well. Would probably share more about this later In Sha'a Allah
Meanwhile, it is the last day to get the “tarbiyah at home” course at 70% off plus a complimentary coaching session with me.
The Imam also adviced that we should not give parts of the animals we slaughter as wages to those who work for us but to pay them their due first and anything else to be considered as charity. I thought that was interesting.
I love the sense of community that Eid brings forth. It transcends borders and differences. Seeing everyone looking their best and families wearing matching clothes...
It reminds us that we are all part of a global family, connected by our shahadah.
I pray that we carry this spirit of unity and compassion beyond the Eid ground and together, we can create ripples of khair (goodness) across the world.
And if for some reason you could not find joy on this day, choose to trust in Allah.
May you always find Him sufficient.
Eid Mubarak my lovely.
TaqabbalAllahu minna wa minkum ❤️
Love,
Umm B
