In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
So he began [the search] with their bags before the bag of his brother; then he extracted it from the bag of his brother. Thus did We plan for Joseph. He could not have taken his brother within the religion of the king except that Allah willed. We raise in degrees whom We will, but over every possessor of knowledge is one [more] knowing. [Qur’an 12:76]
It is impossible to try to comprehend the vastness of the knowledge of Allah ﷻ. He knows everything about everything and everyone. What our hearts conceal, what our eyes show, our dwelling place, where we will be buried, every leaf that falls....
Allah ﷻ raises the ranks with knowledge. Allah ﷻ honoured Adam AS with knowledge.
We need to approach things with a beginner's mindset. You can't pour into a full cup. You can't learn if you already think you know. We need gratitude, contentment and humility. We need to be content with where we are at. Be humble in the presence of those with more and be grateful for what we have because some people do not even have that. Let's all seek knowledge even if just enough to practice our Islam and worship Allah ﷻ better.
May Allah ﷻ increase us in beneficial knowledge. Amin.
I prepared a small guidebook for anyone who wants to make tadabbur one small part of their day. It has one ayah from each juz, some notes from various tafasir (all referenced), and personal reflection questions. Allow the Qur'an transform you.
