In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect. [Qur’an 18:28]

Who do we obey? Do we obey our own whims? Or do we obey others, who are heedless and then follow their own whims?
Who do we follow on social media? Why do we follow them? Who do we aspire to be like?
Who do we look up to? What do we find attractive?
How can we apply this principle in our own lives to avoid being swayed by the allure of worldly pomp and glitter?
Yes! Just a few more questions I am sitting with.
May Allah grant us righteous company and make us righteous companions.
