In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful."So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah]. [Qur’an 21:83-84]
It is so beautiful the way the Prophets would make du’a to Allah ﷻ and Surah al-Anbiya is filled with them. They would literally surrender to Him with the most beautiful words. Du’a is such a powerful tool we have at our disposal. Do not wait till the last ten days, starting making your du’as now.
Just because we live an easy and comfortable life, doesn’t necessarily mean that Allah (swt) is pleased with us. It could be that this period of comfort is our own test.
Try to imagine if you had everything you want? What kind of Muslim or Mu’meen would you be?
We need to be grateful - even in adversity. It is easier when things are easy but when they are not, we need to try to find something to be grateful for. What are you grateful for?
This shows Allah's generosity and mercy. It helps to remember even when we are in difficult situations, that we serve a Lord that is Generous, Kind, Just and full of mercy. Allah ﷻ knows, but it is okay to still just unburden yourself with Him. And as we try to search for and create safe spaces, we need to remember that the goal is to be safe with Allah.
May Allah ﷻ grant you afiyah. May we get the pleasure of seeing Him in Jannah! Amin!
I prepared a small guidebook for anyone who wants to make tadabbur one small part of their day. It has one ayah from each juz, some notes from various tafasir (all referenced), and personal reflection questions. Allow the Qur'an transform you.
