In the name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
That is because Allah is the Truth, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand.
Surah Luqman (31:30)
There are moments when the heart feels restless, when the soul searches for something steady to hold onto.
The world shifts too easily, people change, circumstances fluctuate, emotions rise and fall like the tide. In that search for something constant, the heart keeps reaching, hoping to land on something firm, something that will not break under the weight of longing.
"Allah is the Truth."
Not just in a theoretical sense, but in the realest way possible.
Everything else, our fears, our ambitions, the things we pour ourselves into, it all fades.
It is easy to think this refers only to idols but sometimes, they are the things we think will bring us peace, success, relationships or connections, validation. Sometimes, they are the places we turn to for comfort before turning to Him.
And yet, every time, the heart returns to the same truth, nothing will ever be enough if it is not Him.
He is far beyond our comprehension, above all things, greater than anything we could ever imagine. And it is beautiful that this does not create distance. he is not beyond reach.
He is The Most High, above the chaos, above my worries, above the fleeting distractions of this world.
And He is The Greatest, greater than every problem, every burden, every fear that keeps me up at night.
and…
He is near…
not just when I am at my best
not just when I feel worthy
not just when I have everything figured out.
He is near…
in the hesitation before the du’a
in the gratitude after the du’a
in the space between one heartbeat and the next.
Just call him.
Do not be deceived by any created thing who promises power.
Your Lord is the Most High, The Greatest.
Ya Aliyy, You are the Most Hight, yet close enough for me to seek through you. Let me always remember that nothing is greater than You. Keep me humble in my salah and grant me khushoo, so when I say ‘Allahu Akbar’ I believe it. And let me live my life anchored in that believe.
