In the name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
And He is Allah; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned. Surah Qasas (28:70)
There is a certainty that lingers in the air, in every breath we take, we are all returning to Him. No matter how fast we run, no matter how far or how fast we rise, no matter what we build or break along the way, all roads lead back to Allah.
We live as though we are in charge, as though our plans hold weight against our fate, the pen has already lifted, the ink has already dried…
So many things to achieve and measure our worth by, we think that the next milestone, the next possession, the next approval will bring fulfilment.
But when the dust settles, when all the noise fades, what remains?
Everything returns to Him.
Everything begins and ends with Him.
We act as though we have time but it is not a question of if, but when.
One day, we will stand before Him, no excuses, no masks, no distractions, no misunderstandings. Just us, our deeds, and His perfect justice.
Moments we wasted.
Prayers we rushed through.
Sins we excused ourselves for, as we tried explaining them away.
The times we knew better but did not do better.
Ya Allah ﷻ please admit us into Jannah without account. Amin.
This life is brief. The return is inevitable.
But there is still time, right now, there is still time.
So before I am returned to Him, let me return to Him.
Ya Allah, I return to You now, not because I feel ready, not because I have done enough, but because I have nowhere else to go. Because all roads lead to You. Because I am tired of running in circles, tired of seeking fulfilment in everything but You. I am weak, but You are Strong. I am lost, but You are the Guide. I am burdened by sins I can barely talk about, but You are the One who forgives all things. Keep my soul longing for You. Keep me walking towards You, no matter how many times I stumble. For You are Allah. And to You is the final return. Please, let me not stand before You empty-handed.
Ya Mujeeb! Please! Jannah!
