In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
SubhanAllah! It is here!
There is something about preparing for the way you want to meet Ramadān. From months before, you are making lists and ticking things off. Then it’s here and you are still shocked at how seemingly unprepared you are. May Allah ﷻ grant us the best of the month. Amin!
The past 8 months have been a lot for me to be honest. So much has happened in a way that even I am surprised when I read journal entries. I am looking forward to a secluded Ramadān.
I am looking forward to embracing the joy of missing out, because the truth is there is so much happening. Whether it is series and podcast, iftar parties, or lessons and lectures and books or club house rooms (if they still call them that).
I have had a community-centered Ramadān for the last maybe 4 years and to be honest, I am a bit anxious that I would miss it - the 6am fajr conversations and reflections, the zoom sessions etc. I am excited about involving the children too. Funny story, We were talking to the children about Ramadān in the homeschool islamiyya and I asked, “do you know what would happen if you do not eat food or drink water for a whole day?” and one child exclaimed, “yes! you would die.” Another one cried because he was told his mummy would not be eating because she would be fasting. Their innocence is so humbling. Allahumma barik.
I am looking forward to this spiritual retreat of some sorts. I have been craving seclusion and I recently made my instagram private as well and might not be on there as much. I have been writing a lot and enjoying it, and have a few tip-type posts going out in sha’a Allah ﷻ. You can stay connected here…
I even wrote one piece on why you should journal this Ramadān. Read it here.
I have a series of emails called “pockets of peace” sprinkled out throughout Ramadān. If you would like to receive them, please sign up here.
And if you would still like to get Ramadān journals, use the code “Ramadanmoon” for a discount over at the dotted pearl.
Ramadan Mubarak!
Do not forget to witness the month as well. Do not let it just breeze past you. May Allah ﷻ grant us afiyah, incrase us in knowledge, add barakah to our time and make us among the truly successful ones who actually start towards the path of Al-Muttaqeen. Amin!
